SMS Terms & Conditions

1. SMS Match Alerts and League Messages

ThrowDown offers optional SMS notifications for tournament players. If you opt in, you receive automated match alerts when your next match is ready and a board has been assigned, and messages from your league (the organizer running the events you register for) sent through ThrowDown.

2. Consent

SMS alerts are optional and are NOT required to register for or use ThrowDown. During registration, the phone number field is optional and sits in a separate section titled “Match Text Alerts (optional)”. Next to it is an unchecked consent checkbox that you must actively check to opt in to match alerts and messages from your league. Consent to SMS is collected only through this dedicated checkbox. It is not part of the Terms of Service and is not bundled with any other agreement. You may register without a phone number or opt out at any time by replying STOP.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Match alerts are typically 1–5 messages per tournament event (one per match assignment) and are only sent during active events you are registered for. Messages from your league are occasional and are sent by your league's organizers.

4. Opt-Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also contact your tournament organizer to disable SMS notifications on your player profile. Once opted out, you will not receive further SMS messages unless you re-subscribe.

5. Help

Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact the tournament organizer directly.

6. Message & Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply. ThrowDown does not charge for SMS notifications, but your carrier may charge for incoming text messages per your mobile plan.

7. Supported Carriers

SMS is supported on all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others.

8. Privacy

Phone numbers are stored securely and used solely for match alerts and messages from your league. We do not sell, share, or use phone numbers for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
