Glossary

Blind Draw
A random pairing system for doubles events where players are assigned partners randomly rather than choosing their own.
Board Assignment
The physical dart board number assigned to a match. Helps players know where to play.
Bracket
The tournament structure showing matchups and progression. Can be single elimination, double elimination, or round robin.
Bye
When a player advances to the next round without playing, typically because of an odd number of participants.
Check-in
The process of confirming a registered player has arrived at the venue and is ready to play.
Double Elimination
A bracket format where players must lose twice to be eliminated, using a winners and losers bracket.
Entry Fee
The amount a player pays to participate in a tournament game. Collected fees form the prize pool.
League
An organization that runs multiple events over time with a consistent player base. Each league has its own branded portal.
Match
A single contest between two players or teams in the bracket. The winner advances.
Offline Mode
ThrowDown's ability to continue recording scores without internet, syncing data when the connection is restored.
Organization
A league or venue that runs tournaments on ThrowDown. Each organization has its own settings, branding, and player roster.
Payout
Prize money distributed to top finishers based on the configured payout structure.
Round Robin
A bracket format where every participant plays every other participant. Winner determined by best record.
Seed
A player's ranking used to determine initial bracket placement. Higher seeds are matched against lower seeds in early rounds.
Single Elimination
A bracket format where one loss eliminates a player from the tournament.
Spectator View
A public, read-only view of live brackets and results for audience members.
